Hi- I am a Licensed Broker, CEO of Del Mar Properties and co-owner of Del Mar Properties with Carole Delmar. I'm responsible for management, marketing strategies and website development, while representing buyers and sellers in commercial and residential sales in the Half Moon Bay and Coastside area and throughout San Mateo County. I also work for clients in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Livermore, Lafayette, Santa Rosa, and Marin County. I was born in California, graduate of Acalanes High School in Lafayette and U.C. Berkeley, I've lived on the Coastside since 1989, living in El Granada, Pescadero, and Loma Mar. My family has lived in Woodside since 1973. Prior to entering the real estate business, I spent over twenty years as a General Building Contractor and General Engineering Contractor and I currently hold those licenses (SCL# 328726). I owned and lived on a 40' wood sloop for a number of years and was active in racing on the Ocean and San Francisco Bay. I was a member of the Berkeley Yacht Club for many years and now belong to the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club. My projects included residential and commercial design & construction, remodeling, owning and managing large rental properties, architectural design, environmental remediation, grading, paving, excavation, drafting plans, and real estate development. I am very experienced in building permits and planning regulations and I often help client with permit facilitation. A serious interest in psychology, relationships and communication lead me to studies and some Intensive Training in Nonviolent Communication with Marshall Rosenburg. I recently designed and constructed a total renovation and addition to my and Caroles home in El Granada. My breadth of experience and creativity have helped to make me an effective real estate problem-solver for the last fifteen years. I was recently chosen as one of Dewalt's top 17 finish Carpenters. Additional interests include Luthiery, Architecture, cabinetry, horseback riding, NVC, philosophy, sailing, ceramics and art, A former member of a rock and roll band (guitar and vocals), Jim is custom building an archtop jazz guitar, and has rekindled his childhood passion for playing the trumpet (And bought a 20 year old Benge). Jim's newest venture
is the purchase of a Formosa
46 cutter rig sailboat (Doug Peterson design). I'd love to talk with you about your project, share what I know, and help if I can. Best Regards, Jim
